Welp. It’s 2011. Last fall went by way super fast; it was SO incredible though!
God has truly been molding and challenging me beyond belief. Most of you know about my internship here in Fayetteville. One of the neatest things we are encouraged to do is to meet with Cousins and share stories of Jesus with them. These women have become some of my closest friends and I’ve learned so much about .. well everything through our relationships. Through this, prayer and deeper meditation of the gospels, I’ve developed a deeper passion for the person of Jesus, His Kingdom, and the Middle East. This semester I assume that passion will continue to grow! AND this new thing is going to be super neat! As part of my internship, we will be participating in a house church experiment. I know what a great church looks like in America, but I really don’t know what kind of church to plant in an unreached country. I know that in some ways it will look different from the church I have always known. That is why all of us interns are going to take 4 months to dig into the Word and focus on the foundational elements of the New Testament Church that Jesus and the Disciples gave us. If we can learn from Scripture to start church from scratch, we are confident we can then pass that on to future believers in some of the most unreached places in the world! At the end of May we will be heading to North Africa for a couple of weeks to put everything we are learning to practice. More updates on that to come!
Will you please pray through these next few months with me?
Ask that God would unfold a basic and simple version of the church that I can go on to plant among the unreached in the future.
Ask that God would give me a supernatural ability to learn Arabic in my fourth semester. That I may speak to those here who do not speak English about His Truth! And for potential preparation to spend the summer in Jordan. Potentially. You can pray about that too :)
For wisdom and time-management this semester. It’s going to be a crazy one! But a great one indeed. I’m ecstatic to see what cool creative things God does.
Let me know how you are and if there’s any way I can be praying for you! Thank you so much for all the encouragement and support!
To Him be the Glory Forever and Ever.
